Many of you know I am a great animal lover. We have dogs, cats, chickens and horses. Sadly my old Jack Russell is poorly. He would be 16 on 11th April and is a lovely old boy. Anyone who has owned a JRT will know they are big dogs in small bodies, with hearts of gold and enormous character.....as well as buckets of naughtiness and even more charm. Last week he became poorly. Two visits to the vets were inconclusive and the only options were loads of tests and x-rays. But he is an old dog. What could they find that can be cured in a 16 year old? His condition has worsened and the vet will come tomorrow to put him to sleep. We have this evening to say our goodbyes and my son is driving over to see him. I am in tears, Baby Belle is in tears, Mr Belle is in tears. He's not just a dog. He's been my constant companion for 16 years and now I have to do the right thing............but it breaks my heart.
