Today we said a tearful farewell to our lovely ginger cat Mr T.
16 and a half is a good age, and he was fine and dandy until he collapsed this morning.
He appears to have had a stroke and we had him pts a while ago.
    It never gets any easier..................

It's one of the saddest times ever. Been through it several times with my cat buddies. Hugs and a toast to Mr T. :(

Baby Belle put him on her bed, for the other kitties to say goodbye to before burying him in the paddock next to our beloved Jack Russel (they were mates).
His litter sister curled up next to his little body and slept. She never did this when he was alive as she is a stuck up norty torty who doesn't like other cats................but she knew. She knew.
    Animals are amazing.

    I am sorry Belle.
My son's cat is quite poorly at the moment and I don't know how they will cope when she goes. It was upsetting him thinking she might be suffering but then she rallied so he was glad they hadn't thrown in the towel. The children will be so sad.

Sorry to hear this but at least it was quick. No long-drawn-out suffering.

So sorry, always a real loss when a much-loved member of the family goes.

I am sorry to hear your news, Belle.

And a note to anybody reading - never have just one animal in your home and life.

Ahh so, so sorry to hear this and no it does not get any easier. My thoughts are with you. Not much hurts more than a pet in distress and the loss when they die - well .... just awful. I read a fantastic piece by David Baddiel ( which I have kept ) in the ST@ two weeks ago - he had to have his cat of 20 put to sleep . He was devastated and he described so well / beautifully the feelings many of us have when we have to face the inevitable. It was quite uplifting. We had our boy of 17 put to sleep a few years ago . I swore I would never allow myself to get close to cats again BUT two years on we have two young Persians who are a total joy.... no regrets. I think having animals makes you a better person. Chin up

I’m sorry to hear your news Belle, I lost my beloved Cairn Terrier earlier this year and know how painful it is to lose a dearly loved family pet.

My warmest wishes to you and your family (human and animal) at this time.
