I expect scant sympathy from you lot, slogging your guts out until the end of term, but here am I, responding to posts from a,luxury Austrian ski resort with a ruptured cruciate ligament done on moguls on day one of holiday.
Hope, your easter holidays are relaxing and enjoyable. You have so earned them! X

Oh no GL, I'm really sorry to hear this. On holiday....that's awfully bad luck! Hope it's not too painful though.. How long does that take to heal then? Only familiar with this in animals, I'm afraid. .
Lots of schools have already broken up, by the way. Take care and here's to a very speedy recovery.

Thanks, Vamps! It takes ages apparently and needs surgery to repair the ligament. Its the Michael Owen injury.
  4. You have my sympathy, that is a pig of an injury and does take ages to mend. At least hopefully there is a pleasant terrace on which you can sit with your feet up and enjoy the view.

Oh yes! Lots of heissechokolade mit achlagobers though the next table couple's verve cliquot at ?91 a bottle looks tempting!
  6. Rotten luck GL [IMG]. Sending you best wishes for a straightforward and quick recovery. Hope you get some nice times on your holiday despite everything else.

    So let's get this straight:
    • you're in Austria
    • at a luxury resort
    • laid up
    • on the internet
That much I can sympathise with. But - and this is where it goes south -

Just got home. Two hours of skiing only and the only holiday snaps are MRI scans! Referral to specialist tomorrow then surgery and rehab. Might just be fit for start of next season!!! Bum.

See, that's why no-one should go skiing. It's just wrong.
  13. Oh no, poor you - I am really sorry!

Poor you GL. I hope you get your surgery sooner than my son got his. He had to wait for 6 months. He had his op on 8th March and is just managing now to get around with one crutch. Just started driving again. Good luck.

    Oh flip! Hope mine's quicker!

Still, I did get a ride on a,golf buggy through the airport. I've always wanted to do that and it's so cool! You get to miss all the Kong queues at immigration and the scrum at baggage reclaim.
