RS jobs - help!

Hi everyone - I need your help!

I'm an NQT that will be finishing my NQT year in December, due to working part time at the beginning of my NQT year. So far, I've only been able to get temporary maternity covers for jobs and, even though my current job sounded promising in terms of keeping me on and expanding the department, this has fallen through and they could only offer me 1 day a week (no thanks!)

I know it's early, but here's my dilemma - I'm struggling to find RS jobs in the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area! And if they do become available, most are at Catholic schools. I am not a Catholic, so this immediately puts me at a disadvantage (despite schools saying otherwise...)

Any tips? Know of any jobs coming up? I can't afford to move out of my parents' house yet, so moving to London, where jobs are plentiful, is out of the question!

    Help!!!

If jobs are not coming up in the area near your parents’ house then in order to secure an RS teaching post you will have to move to where the jobs are.
Young professionals in towns and cities often share flats or houses in order to afford them. If you work in a boarding school, accommodation may be a possibility in return for boarding duties.

ViolaClef is right! You have to move if you can't find RS job locally. There is a dearth of RS subject specialists. The job won't come to you, you go for it.
