Royal Wedding, Foundation Stage Ideas...

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by TrialandTribulation, May 5, 2011.

  1. With the wedding still firmly in peoples minds, the topic at the moment in the nursery I'm on placement in is 'The Royal Wedding'. Any ideas for activities or little bits to enhance provision would be greatly appreciated!

    Make a wedding hat.
Looking at and feeling different materials and deciding which you think would be nice for a wedding dress.
    Icing/decorating cakes.
Tasting different flavours of cakes (vanilla, fruit cake, chocolate, lemon, etc).
Building a tier 'cake' from blocks, construction, etc - can you make it balance?
Stories about weddings and puppets/small world/role play opportunities for acting them out.
Dressing up as wedding guests, or the wedding party.
Decorate the Beebot as a carriage and have the children try to program it to drive the route from the abbey to Buckingham Palace.
Repeating patterns with red, white and blue.
Make some class bunting using different art materials to decorate each piece (paint, crayons, tissue paper, etc).
Make a carriage or wedding car from construction or junk modelling.
    Visit a local church.
Find red, white and blue objects and sort them into colours.
