Rose Bruford College CPD Workshops for Teachers and Educators

Discussion in 'Drama and performing arts' started by Samam11, Nov 7, 2012.

1. We are offering a series of Theatre workshops at Rose Bruford College aimed specifically at teachers and educators specialising in English, Drama, and Theatre, which are led by experienced and professional practitioners.

Exploring Text - Thursday 22nd November 6-8pm with Dr Carol Morley
This session aims to explore typical A level drama texts taking samples from ancient Greek, early modern and contemporary theatre traditions. We will look at original staging practices and explore their influence on modern interpretations and performance styles. Any participants requesting work relevant to younger pupils and /or other courses are very welcome to make their specific needs known in advance, so the workshop can be further customised.

Directing DNA - Wednesday 28th November 6.30-8.30pm with Colin Ellwood
How to get performers of all abilities to engage truthfully and creatively with a dramatic text or situation and to 'own' and develop their own work.

Expressive Voice - Thursday 17th January 6-8pmwith Bernadette O’Brien
This workshop will offer the opportunity for making connections between breath, movement, and imagination in an attempt to fully ground the voice within the body and tap into more of its expressive potential. Emphasis will be placed on voice and body awareness practices that can help release holding patterns which restrict vocal expression. We will also explore various areas of body resonance that can serve to enhance the range, fluidity, colour, strength and vibrancy of the voice.

Moving Stillness - Thursday 24th January 6-8pmwith Andy Crook
An exploration of movement and stillness. Both conditions are necessary in order to create work and to allow our bodies to be fully expressive. We will cover basic exercises based on the work of Jacques Lecoq and Monika Pagneux that activate the body and gives us the opportunity to work freely and creatively with our whole selves.

We know you get busy so we want to make this as convenient as possible for you to attend just one of the workshops at £25, or all four of them for the show stopping sum of £75! Booking couldn’t be easier, visit our online store
