    • I'm wondering , with term starting this week, whether governors need to have seen/agreed school risk assessments for full schools returning?

Governors are accountable for H&S and risk assessments in a school but the actual carrying out and implementation of these ia delegated to the headteacher (a statutory delegation in LA maintained schools).

I would expect governors to have made sure that the head has in fact done the risk assessments and seen them but governors do not need to approve them in detail.

My HT completed her risk assessment last week although we had seen a preliminary one earlier. Ours is an LA template with a space for it to be "approved" by the CoG which i have done. It's now been published on the school website so parents can see it.
