Actor Frank Kelly, famed for his portrayal of the monosyllabic reprobate priest Father Jack in the brilliant sitcom Father Ted has just passed away aged 77.

Something spooky. Fr Jack died on the anniversary of the death of Fr Ted.

And something really scary - that was 18 years ago!!!! 1998!

Fr Ted was genius. Extremely silly but genius. RIP Jack.

I think I must have watched every episode of every series of 'An Island Parish' and not one is as good as 'Father Ted'.

    But it's kinda like it!

    Here's some Satanic magic.

I liked the one where he appeared all clean-shaven and starting singing something about apple-blossoms.

Just wish they had made more!

We used to have a school governor who looked a bit like him but didn't act like him I hasten to add. He was called Father xxxx but it was hard not to call him Father Jack. Apparently someone once did at a governors meeting but nobody heard - or all pretended not to.

Father Ted was a brilliant, timeless programme.
