Rigby Star -guided / independent books are same colour...help!!!

Hi,
for what it's worth I've always sent home same colour. From colours you say assume you are infant/L1, so the chn (one always hopes!) would be getting some support when reading to parents. Their independent books would perhaps be unlikely to be truley (sp?) independent at this stage (I would have thunk).

 

Thanks. Now just wondering if it is only Rigby that does their guided and independent books like this. If I wanted to supplement our collection of books and were ordering from Collins Big Cat, do they do the guided/independent for you as well or do you have to order guided books from a particular colour band and order books from the colour band below as the independent books?

 

Big Cat is a guided reading scheme as far as I remember
