I've not posted for a long time, so bare with me... I left teaching 2 years ago Nd worked supply, then in a care home and now in retail. Nothing measures up and I want to return .The thing is, I left after becoming a middle leader on a huge TLR and hating it.

I enjoy teaching, rather than bureaucracy. How long would I need to be out of teaching to effectively go down the pay scale and become an affordable classroom teacher again?

You can apply for a mainscale post. There is no obligation for schools to match previous pay scales any more-you’ll be a bargain!
