Returning to FE

  1. I completed a PGCE PCET course (with PTTLS) in 2009 but haven't taught in FE since. Since then I have done a masters degree in a related subject and worked in relevant jobs within industry. What I would like to know is would my qualification still be relevant? Would I need to do any kind of refresher course? And would my lack of recent teaching experience go against me? I am looking for freelance or part time positions in the London area and my specialist subjects are Music Technology and Multimedia. Any advice much appreciated.

You've got a full teaching qualification as well as a mix of industrial experience. You would have completed around 100 hours during your PGCE course. I think it all depends who else turns up on the day to compare experience. It is worth putting in applications to colleges in your local area. Good luck
