Returning from maternity leave

    Hi- I hope I am posting this in the relevant forum! I am hoping to return from maternity leave for the last two weeks of the academic year on my new part time contract. My Head has made it clear that she wants me to use my KIT days instead (so I would not be paid over summer) and come back on my new contract in September. Am I within my 'rights' to return on my new contract in July if I wish? How much notice to I need to give my school about my return to work date?

    KIT days are optional upon mutual agreement. You are perfectly within your rights to state your date of return to work as any date you like - and to be paid over the summer vacation in full. Information on notice here www.tesfaq.co.uk
