Returning from Mat leave

I'm currently on maternity leave having had my baby last October.
I'd like to return to work in July, full time, for two weeks but then go to part-time from September. Is this possible? Or is it being really cheeky in terms of August pay? Can I state in my return to work letter that this is what I would like? Or do I need two separate letters, one with return to work for July and one to request flexible working from September?
    Thanks in advance.

    .

    Congratulations on that new baby!

    What you suggest is

    a) possible

    b) sensible

Yes, just do a letter saying that you will return to your full-time post on (date). You could send this one earlier, making sure that you put 1st September as the start date for the part-time role.

    Letter: asking for part-time working

    Best wishes
