return to work letter?

Discussion in 'Pregnancy' started by nearly qualified, Sep 2, 2011.

  1. Hi
    Just wondering what you have to put in your letter - is it as simple as I will be returning to work on...? Also, does it go to your headteacher/governors or to county?
    I had my baby in July and will be going back to work in January but I am going to put the first day of the Christmas hols down as my return date - do you think anyone will question that?
    Thanks x

  3. I had a form in my maternity paperwork from HR which I had to fill in. It went to my head first to be signed and then the school forwarded it to the LEA and HR. I would definitely put down your return date as the first day of the Christmas hols - no one should question it - it's your right! If you haven't got a form, I would just simply state you will be returning to work on such and such a date and send it to your headteacher. (I would then check with whoever does your personnel in school if you need to do anything else and whether they forward it on to county for you.)
