resigning from SMT

Discussion in 'Senior Leadership Team' started by Vimes, Mar 20, 2012.

  1. If you resign from SMT but want to stay in teaching then what are the pay implications? Do you stay on the leadership scale or go back to UPS/MPS?

What are you resigning from? SMT is not a job you resign from it's presumably it's part of your role. If your school would agree to you resigning from, for example, the role of assistant Head to become once again a teacher then it would be fair to assume you would be paid as a teacher not a Leader

If you become a teacher again, assuming you have been on the leadership scale for at least two years, you would go as a minimum to UPS1. If you were already post threshold then you would be able to argue for a higher point but that is up to the school to some extent
  4. I'd sooner not go into more details but thanks for your replies.
