Rerupture

Discussion in 'Health and wellbeing' started by billygoat, Jan 8, 2012.

  1. Could not believe it. 14 weeks in after rupturing an Achilles tendon it has gone again! Struggled through at work on crutches, only been at the school just under 4 weeks from Sept and felt guilty as hell of having time off. Conservative treatment was recommended by the specialist as the best way to go although i had asked for it to be stitched. That when you are put in plaster and wait for mother nature to slowly knit the tendon back together again. Friend i know had his stitched and has had no problems since.

Getting up from the sofa and i felt a 'twang' followed by the pain. That was Tues night and am in tomorrow for surgery, to have it stitched after all! Got to say i have never looked forward to an operation before this.
