Request for single-sex classes

Discussion in 'Further Education' started by skillsforlaugh, Feb 14, 2011.

  1. What are my legal obligations as an education provider when a prospective learner reqests single-sex classes due to religious belief? I've contacted EHRC but am still waiting for a response.
  2. I don't - as I understand it - think that this is a request that has to be met under current legislation.
Equally as a Muslim this is not something that is required Islamically (segregation for education is exempted in the same way that it is for medical care etc) and I have never heard if it as being a requirement for other faiths.
