Report writing - literacy or Literacy?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by clairepear, Jun 16, 2012.

  1. Could someone help me please?
I got up really early this morning to write my reports but am now wishing I'd stayed in bed!
Do I use In literacy ...
or In Literacy... (because it's the name of the subject)

Think I might just use In English... instead[IMG]

    I do
  3. I think it's literacy (since it is also maths, geography, history etc). However, English has a capital letter because it is the name of one particular language.
I have no choice but to call it literacy in school, but English would be my preference!

  4. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
    Time to start writing!

It's literacy. The only school subjects which need capitalising are those which are acronyms (e.g. PSHE, PE) and English/ German / French / Chinese etc.
