Replace Homework by Restructuring

    Let’s explore this:
A secondary school has 6 periods per day, each 50 mins long.
In teaching terms, that means 40 mins per class.
Use the last 15 mins of each class for independent completion of exercises, hitherto set as homework.
Some may argue that such a move cuts down on much-needed instruction time. This is actually the area where most time is wasted. Instruction can be improved and made more compact.
For those students who need further instruction, let the teacher be available during the final 15 mins.

Alternatively, have them do homework as well, enabling them to practice twice and thus improve further.
