Rent in Singapore

Discussion in 'Teaching overseas' started by EmilyChu, Dec 15, 2010.

  1. Hi, I heard rent in Singapore has been skyrocketing at the moment, but what's the average rent for a couple? Thanks.

  3. Highly unlikely to find anything below $3000 per month.

  4. Thank you for the info. Is the quoted price for a condo. or HDB? Any info. appreciated.

  5. We just moved to Singapore this summer. 2 Bedroom apts run from $2750 on up. That's not for HDB. We were encouraged to avoid those. Most people pay about £3300 for a decent 2 bedroom (plus a small maid's room, which we use for storage). Hope that helps.

Some HDB's you can't live in because of Govt laws. Executive HDB's( have a pool and maybe some other facilities) can be rented by foreigners and they seem to be getting Sing$3000+ depending on location. Most teachers top up their rental allowance and you need to factor that in to your budget.
