This clip from the Joan of Arc film is good to use when discussing different interpretations of 'religious experience':

(There may be a better quality clip somewhere else on YouTube, though.)

I've been in correspondence with an atheist scientist for a few months and have mentioned some of my own experiences at times. I upload the conversation from time to time - as a resource - but it's a bit long to trawl through. I will try to find a good section which may be relevant. However this is part of a long conversation and may not work well without the 'relationship' that has built up over time.
One good thing about 'working' as an RE Consultant (offering free consultation in response to pm's and uploading the research I do in the process) is that I can be upfront about my own experiences in a way I would never feel comfortable about in the classroom. I can 'be a resource' if you like - which is why I have also been uploading a blog fairly regularly for the past eight or ten months.
The play about Buddha, on youtube, which I refer to in one of the resources has some lovely bits - about his enlightenment and different 'supernatural' experiences from his life. It would be interesting to use because of course he didn't actually speak about God.
I will see what else occurs to me / I can find on google and post that later.

  4. Our pupils quite like John Pridmore's story.

We had him in once, held the kids spellbound for an hour. You can get clips of his testimony on Youtube, or from a resource called Youth Cafe (think that's what it is called).

Just to go on a different angle (are are they real/do they need to be real to work)

How about Steve martin's Leap of faith.

  6. There's several in the Simpsons. Grampa Simpson's experience in the Simpsons movie is good and there's Bart "becoming"a faith healer in Faith Off.
Just to add a different persepctive on things!

I will share this file directly here, as part of the resource on spiritual
