Reference from current employer of 6 months

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by jaybird3512, Feb 9, 2012.

  1. Hi
In abit of a pickle. Currently working abroad but not working out. I want to leave and do not want a reference from my current Head. Will this be a problem back in uk? Can I just omit the last 6 months off my application form?

    No.
You may not leave it out - a school will wonder what you were doing and might even conclude that possibly you were in prison.
You must be honest in all your application, and omitting an employer is not honest, I'm afraid!
And - more bad news - you must have your current or most recent employer in an employment involving working with children as your first referee . . .
So that's another reason for not leaving it out.
You might actually think that this is a good reason FOR leaving it out - but if you do and it is discovered you could be dismissed without notice . . . and never work in this town (i.e. education) again . . .
    Best wishes
