recording using audacity

Discussion in 'Modern foreign languages' started by hawkscay, Mar 21, 2011.

  1. Hi there,
I used Audacity for the first time to record some mocks with the intention of using it to record the real exams for my 3 A2 students. While I was listening to the recordings, about 3 or 4 minutes into it, the sound became very faint and very jumpy for the 3 recordings. I have not used a microphone as the internal microphone seems to work well. I saved the files as mp3 as requested by AQA.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?
    Many thanks

When the sound became faint did the wave forms become very short? I suggest you use a microphone to record with anyway or a digital voice recorder which would probably be more reliable for recording a speaking assessment.
