Reasonable time to wait?

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by takeatrip, May 22, 2011.

  1. I submitted my part time working request some months ago. My school have not confirmed whether the request has been accepted or decllined, though have indicated they are trying. It now seems that I will not know until June - after the resignation cut off date. What is a reasonable amount of time to wait for a formal response? I know in the guidelines they are obliged to respond within 28 days - is this for an acknowledgement or a final decision?
I am quite confused and worried - if they cannot accommodate my request I will have problems finding another position so late, and I may not even be able to resign!
    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance
  2. Many thanks. I am just a little worried about being seen to be troublesome!
