really quick question!

    Is my DFES number the same as my GTC number?

    Think so, but don't you have the paperwork to check?

    yes they are. You can always call the GTS to check if you feel the need.

    I still have a postcard that was sent by DfES when applied to train with my DfES number on it and the GTC send you a membership card every year with your number printed on it. I checked my GTC number when you asked and it looked the same as DfES from memory, but I didn't go and search in my filing cabinet for the DfES card!

    Definitely one and the same thing.
    I think it's proper name is currently "Teacher Reference Number" but it may have changed again
