Reading Tests that give a standardised score for comprehension.

  2. The NFER Group Reading Test does this. Relatively cheap too.
     
  3. It is a 6-14 years test though.

    Thanks madphil and susan. Sorry I disappeared yesterday, but son got home from work and monopolised the PC. Will check out NFER.

    The New Salford Sentence Reading test gives a standardised score for comprehension (fairly cheap andstarts at age 4.6)
