I am looking at modernising our Reading and Spelling assessments in a Special Secondary school. I'm unsure of our budget to do this but can anyone recommend a good reading and spelling age assessment please!
    Thank you!

I'm long retired from my mainstream secondary school SEND department, but even when I was teaching there full-time, reading and spelling ages had become things of the past, long replaced by percentiles. Have spelling and reading ages made a comeback since then?

Standardised scores generally considered more useful than 'reading / spelling / maths / phonics ages' (all of which I've seen). 'Ages' are derived from standardised scores so they're just a norm-referenced measure.
