I am trying to listen to the radio, but my enjoyment is being completely ruined by the current round of awful, cringey teacher recruitment adverts. Of course the mark of a good teacher is someone who can find the time to write a personalised message to leave of on the desk of every year 11 child to inspire them for life....

    who approves this dreary garbage?

what can we have them charged with?

But we have more teachers than ever before, more teachers are returning to the profession and teaching remains an attractive graduate profession. What’s the problem?

Don't you just love it when the powers that be come out with Sound Bite Stats.

Translation: the increasing population have had children who now require education. More pupils = more teachers. Simples.

Which station do you listen to? We don't get this on Radio 4.

To be fair - I'd quite like to teach in one of these train to teach adverts... class size of about 8 with a carefully selected sex, ethnicity and disability mix for inclusion, all shiny faced and focused and desperate to learn.

It's the other 22 that are hiding off camera that are more of an issue.

And you'll be boosting the listening figures which will help them to justify the eye-watering salaries they pay their radio presenters:

Salaries in the commercial sector are higher still - this is how ITV poached Peston from the BBC.

And within that other 22 it’s the six lads trying to nick said camera that I’m especially concerned about!

    I think I actually listen to 4 of these people... I've never listened to No.s 1 -6, 1 of the 7=,1 of the 9= & No. 13.

I can't help how the BBC chooses to pay their radio presenters...But I have the pleasure of not hearing adverts...

Perhaps not, but you have to listen to drivel about an ex MP? (sorry but I can't remember her name - Tory propaganda rubbish) who is training to be a teacher.
I was too busy to turn it off.

Are you mixing this up with the thread about the ex-FT journalist who is training to be a teacher?
