R.E. Coordinator advice

Discussion in 'Religious Education' started by cassie.thomson, Aug 16, 2012.

  1. I am going into my third year of teaching in September and all teachers have been given a subject to coordinate. Since I have a personal interest in Religion, this is what I chose. I have not been given a file, or anything for that matter and honestly don't know where to start.
We have been told to make a subject coordinator file which presumably has policies, lesson plans, how R.E is taught and examples of work. Does anyone know? I am completely lost...

  2. Is it a Church school?
Does the Church or LA use a particular RE scheme?
I coordinated RE in a Church school. Nobody else wanted to do it or even teach it.
They seemed to think that coordinating it was a doddle though.
You might have similar attitudes to overcome.
    Good luck.

  3. Forgot to say - the things you mentioned could be in your file, plus resources available.
Whoever has asked you to make the file should really say what they want in it, so there are no future misunderstandings.
