Just wondering how everyone else manages when a new child arrives in the class with no info or levels. What do you do to quickly assess them in writing, maths & reading to slot them into the right places quickly and efficiently?!

I put them in the middle group and see how they get on. I can see in less than a week wheere they should be and whether intervention is needed.
