Can a cheque made payable to "Mr & Mrs" be paid into an account that is only "Mrs"?

Why don't you take it to the bank to see?

    I would think so.

  5. Depends on the bank.

  6. At some banks yes, at some banks no.

  7. I used to work at HSBC and they won't take it there. As in theory the 'Mr' is not able to get the money once the cheque is cleared.

I've not been able to pay Mr and Mrs Inq cheques into Lloyds or Nationwide accounts in just my name.
