    Hi all,

I have a degree in primary education (BA HONS) but wondered if this was equivalent or useful as i'm applying for TA roles and they ask for an NVQ level 3 as a TA- am i qualified?

    Thanks!

Hi Oliviaa, I think it's definitely worth applying. I know that an NVQ requires a different skill set, but I've often been involved in short listing and interviewing for TA roles and I know I would've wanted to see someone who had a degree in primary ed, regardless of whether or not they had an NVQ 3. You just need to be sure your application matches the person spec and JD as closely as possible. Good luck!

It’s not equivalent to NVQ 3, it’s above it by 3 levels.

I’ve seen lots of qualified teachers or people with education degrees get TA posts.
