Seems to be a lot of jobs going there at a particular school. Offering shared accommodation. Is that the norm ?

Shared accom - a showstopper. No-one should ever accept shared accom. No it is not the norm.

Thought it was. Thanks. I'd never accept that either.

Unfortunately to many candidates with PGCEi who will accept. Remember some schools have been offering shared accommodation for over 20 years and seem to have no problems recruiting staff.

febbers is right. Some scummy schools will offer shared accommodation, if they can get away with it.

The schools DO get away with it constantly, no problems replacing 80% of staff per year and no bonuses to pay.

If this is a school involved in a boat race, then avoid.
