'JK Rowling's characters transformed into cats but trans folk are beyond all comprehension?': Transgender activist Jack Monroe slams Harry Potter author over 'transphobic' tweet

"She became the world's favourite author by telling of epic fantasy battles between powerful wizards – but now J. K. Rowling has found herself at the centre of a far more down- to-earth showdown after angering radical transgender activists.

The Harry Potter creator sparked fury after showing her support for a tweet that belittled transgender women as 'men in dresses'.

She was immediately branded a TERF – a derogatory term activists use against feminists who don't recognise trans women as genuinely female – and 'transphobic'.

The world gets more weird every day. Meanwhile, here is a nice photograph of J.K. Rowling:

    Lovely dress.

What you can't see is the pair of Doc Martens she is wearing underneath.

Interestingly (or not), and according to the NEU, those teachers in England who 'identify' as transgender were significantly less likely to achieve pay progression this year than other those who do not.

Only 17% all eligible of full-time teachers failed to 'go up a point' this year (including those applying for UPS), compared to the 60% of transgender teachers who failed to be awarded an increase.

Which is to say 5 teachers defining themselves as "transgender", 0.04% of the 12,375 respondents. There were somewhere between 8 and 12 teachers who defined themselves this way, the survey is oddly inconsistent in its figures. It's likely that these teachers were just not up to snuff.

How many transgerder teachers (or those who admit it) are there? Is it a statistically significant number?

Somewhere between 8 and 12 in that survey, of 12,375 respondents. Insignificant.

    Five actually.

3 of which probably feel the issue is fairly significant...

According to the document to which you linked, 5 "transgender" respondents gave the particular response you reported. There were more than 5 respondents to the survey who identified as "transgender".

Jack Monroe (pictured), the cookery writer who was born a woman but now identifies as 'non-binary'.

Seems the greatest crime anyone can commit these days is to actually offend someone, despite the possibility that they may actively choose (or even go out of their way) to be offended.

Being filthy rich (JKR) does not give you the authority to gob off about anything, particularly stuff beyond your ken. Why are the so-called "famous" constantly in our faces. If I had her dosh I'd just buzz off somewhere and spend it, letting the world go by.

No-one has to even be offended now... just the potential of someone being offended is enough...

And then people will defend it...

Thus making the whole point of the thread fictitious? Like her carp books? Thus pointless like your posts?

She clicked ''like'' on a post... and you think that is gobbing off?

The ''gobbing off'' came from the OffenderClickeratti of Twitter who are a clear expression of ''First World problems'' writ large.
