hi, I've been invited for interview on Tuesday and have been asked to bring a project I'm proud of. Has anyone else been asked to do this. This is my first job interview since returning from overseas. I left most of my planning etc in the store of my previous school. Should I simply bring a piece of work I planned, taught and evaluated? Any other ideas? Thank you

Well done on getting that interview!

Obviously, not having access to your materials is a bit disappointing here. But if you have a Unit of Work, and can show how it fitted into medium and long-term planning, that would be good. Do you also have pupil work associated with this, to show achievement? And think also about how you evaluated its success, and therefore how you might amend it next time to make it even more effective.

Here are the links to the general interview advice. Some of them are not relevant to you, but I am including them all for the benefit of other posters.

We have a very nice tradition that when you actually get a job, you start a brand-new thread (not adding it to this one - a brand-new thread) where you told us your good news. You call it Dear Theo - I got that job! and this gives everyone a chance to congratulate you. It also gives them hope and inspiration for their own jobseeking, to see you successful.

If you see one of these threads, make sure you congratulate people!

So I will end by saying that we look forward to seeing your Dear Theo - I got that job!

    Best wishes
