Profile to level 1

Discussion in 'Primary' started by mags74uk, Jan 20, 2011.

  1. Am doing some work with early years and year one although not in main stream and am getting confused as to how the profile assessment dovetails with level 1. When a child finishes the profile are they working towards level one? Or a 1c/ lower? Can a child still be on the profile but moved beyond it in an area say in maths and show signs of level one? Particularly if that child is in year one? Can't see how profile scores give you a start for year one national curriculum so what do people assess against when a child isn't quite reaching level one in year one but has completed profile? Very confused!!! Need more info please
