Production week ideas

Discussion in 'Drama and performing arts' started by jennif3r, May 1, 2013.

  1. We have year 9 production week coming up shortly and need to think of two plays to do that are relatively easy to learn for a cast of 25 - 30.
last year we did two Roald Dahl scripts and added our own music.
Any ideas will be received gratefully

You must have a look at the Nutting Plays.
Not only are they well-written, funny / thought-provoking and downloadable with free samples - they are also written so that they can be performed by a cast of any size and gender mix. And because the lines are allocated at will you can really get a good show going in a short amount of time by giving stronger students more lines and others more physicality.
You could use two different ones with two different casts but there would be an over-arching theme as they all take place in the mythical town of Nutting.
You could also look at the Farmhouse Plays by the same author.
They are all about 25 - 35 mins long.
    See here.
