Primary MFL help please

Discussion in 'Primary' started by lollyxx, Dec 14, 2011.

  1. Looking at resources for french... Anyone know what the situation is for primary MFL? Is it likely to become statutory with the new curriculum? Don't want to spend out if we are unlikely to need them!

    Thanks in advance xx

It's anybody's guess whether PMFL will become statutory! Generally Conservatives are not following through on any of the Labour initiatives and when asked different people seem to have conflicting views.
I'd suggest hanging fire with too many resources, fairly easy to use some online resources at first if you need them, but see if you can leave some 'in the pot' just in case.

  3. It's not clear yet about MFL - we still need to wait for the curriculum review to be completed. However if you do decide to spend some money why not try Chantons- Tous Les Jours from Out of the Ark Music - Book, CD and CDROM with songs that help to consolidate vocab in key topics. The CD ROM has interactive activities before getting to the song, which is shown in a type of Karaoke version for the children to follow the words and sing along. The book has worksheets, vocab lists and ideas . You don't need to be a music specialist. Everything is included - CD with backing tracks and vocals (with French kids singing). Have a listen on their website.
