    Hi all,

I have an interview on Monday and have been asked to teach a '30 min skills based English lesson on a text of your choice to a Year 4 class.' What I am wondering is what 'skills' this might include or is it just anything at my discretion?! Has anyone got an idea what they might mean?

    Many thanks!

Take a look at the Year 4 English curriculum. I imagine skills in English refers to Reading, Writing or Spelling, or even Grammar as a separate skil and then choose an appropriate one which you are familiar and confident with.

Agree with Lara. Look at the NC descriptors for reading and writing. Choose a skill and teach it.

I went with verbs and nouns and it must have been ok because I got the job! Thanks both for your advice - much appreciated!
