Hi. Anybody who is preschool room leader in a private nursery, please could you share your daily routine and what you include in circle time. I have very recently taken on role of preschool leader.

    Thank you x

I am a teacher in a preschool class (3-4 year olds) in a school and don't do any circle times.
It's quite a structured day, because we are attached to a school and join with break and lunch times, but lots of free flow in the classroom.

7.45-8.45 Arrive at any time and play with others from nursery, reception and year 1.
8.45 - 9.00 Carpet time for register and a counting song or numberblocks film
    9.00 - 10.10 Independent learning time
10.10 - 10.30 Tidy up, milk, phase 1 phonics (while drinking milk)
    10.30 - 11.00 Snack and outdoor playtime
    11.00 - 12.00 Independent learning time
    12.00 - 12.15 Tidy up and story, then toilet/handwashing/etc
    12.30-1.30 Lunch and outdoor play
1.30-1.50 Register and phase 2 phonics (phonics only in this last term and only those who are ready)
    1.50 - 2.45 Independent learning time
    2.45 - 3.15 Snack and outdoor playtime
3.15 - 3.35 Board games in small groups
    3.35 - 3.45 Get ready for home
    3.45 -3.55 Story
    3.55 Home for most children
3.55 - 6.00 Leave at any time and play with others from nursery, reception, year 1 and year 2

If you can have rolling snack and milk, then you could cut the tidy and playtime interruptions.
