Post OFSTED Action Plan. What's the timescale?

Discussion in 'Headteachers' started by headdown, Feb 18, 2011.

1. How long before it has to be done?
Do parents have to get a paper copy?
Is it limited to the bullet pointed areas for improvement?
Did you draw it up mainly by yourself or did you involve others?

Thanks

3. They don't exist any more do they?
Think that was 3 frameworks ago and you used to get 40 days.

Still, it's a good idea to to review your SEF and then School Development Plan in light of Ofsted findings. Always good practice to involve stakeholders and share it widely. I'd adapt it for parents and children though- into a booklet form covering the main issues and goals.

No, they don't, I can't remember the last time I wrote a post ofsted action plan. Hmm...

Abolished years ago. It's 'good practice' to do one, I suppose...

It was part of the 2003 Framework and was removed from subsequent Frameworks, I believe.
Hmm... indeed!

I thought it was a long time ago Nomad.
A school which self evaluates effectively will already have the points for development raised by ofsted in their while school improvement plan I would think!
The only exception is if the school is in a category, in which case the LA intervenes to write the action plan with them. Maybe that's what headdown means.

8. alll already said is excellent comment.
Timescale:
As your professional judgement dictates, SDP success criteria define and actions detail.
This should be released to all the usual suspects/stakeholders.
