Poorly but I have my last NQT observation tomorrow!!!

  1. If you are ill you have a duty to remin off school until you are fit and well and able to work. If you have flu then you may be carrying infection that could spread causing more people to be off ill, you cannot deliver high quality lessons if you are ill and you have your own health to look after.
    It may be inconvenient, but that's life. Teachers should not be covering absence unless it is in an emergency though it sounds as if this is an academy and it may well be that the terms and conditions of employment are not the standard school teachers' pay and conditions - so it may well be that the acadmy has a cover clause.
