poor sickness record and off work due to severe vomiting in early pregnancy worries!!!

  1. The only time it will affect your maternity leave is if you are off ill towards the end of your pregnancy (think around the 34th week). They can kick start your materinty leave earlier than requested, but if you are ill around this point then you'd probably benefit from being on materinty leave.

It's within 4 weeks of the baby's due date. I also believe that pregnancy related sickness doesn't count towards your sickness record as long as you have informed your employer that you are pregnant. It is probably a good idea to ask your to doctor to state this is the cause of the sickness on the fitnote. Maybe you could ask if your employer has recorded it as such on your records. Check out the Directgov website about working whilst pregnant as it has lots of good advice and information. You could try telling your HT that the sickness usually starts to ease off after around the 12 week mark. Hope it does for you! All the best[IMG]

Does anyone at school know about your pregnancy?

It may be early days, but if you tell the people that you work with closely (esp HoD), you may find that they cut you a lot of slack!
