Poor selection of emoticons

They're not nearly as good as the old ones. In the winky one the eye doesn't wink and the eyes don't roll in the eye roller. And there isn't a crying one. How can we hope fully to express our emotions? Especially now monicabilongame has furnished us with emotions we didn't even know we had?

Nor is there a 'Dear God' emoticon.

And I seem to remember there was a very expressive vomiting emoticon in old TES.

You see what I mean? You have to click on that emoticon to see it's meant to represent rolling eyes. What's the point of an emoticon without working parts? That purple thing just looks like someone who's a bit gormless.

I think I might be tempted to use a facepalm one occasionally, if one existed. Not as an adjunct to a post, but as a reply to a post that was so idiotic, it would be pointless trying to engage that poster in sensible debate.

Emoticons are lazy. Educated people should be able to engage and win their audience over emotionally via their prose.

The purple one looks like a Ribena berry.
They are all hopeless and I am opting to use punctuation emoticons. I didn't much like the last lot either, however.

How do you make punctuation move? Could you show me an eye roll?
