Any recommends from the poem loving posters of TES? I am interested in sites that accept members' efforts, I suppose.

No. Poemhunter takes submissions from members but it's mostly drivel and the site itself is so full of graphics and adverts it's quite annoying. But you could have a look.

In what way would you say? Doggerel? Sentimentalism?

    Both.
Lots of people writing because someone has told them poetry is an appropriate response to bad experiences but without knowing that
    poetry isn't just
    taking a new
    line
    every now
    and every then.
It can be quite hard going because some people are clearly talking about awful things which have happened to them.

Beware of any person who has the habit of exposing the innocent public to their verse.
They may have even nastier habits ;)

Poetry is all about creating patterns in words and language, isn't it? Those patterns are always interesting, I think, even when they're not particularly poetically competent.

It's more a lack of pattern, Cute, than a lack of poetically competent pattern.

Taking a new line every now and then at the determination of the writer rather than at the determination of the length of the page constitutes a pattern, doesn't it?

    Poetry that breaks the ruler
    Write the wrongs
    Measures the ways
    Destroys the songs
    Ends the rain
    Loosens the tongues
