Poetry, rhyming observation...help!!

Discussion in 'Primary' started by orchid77, Feb 1, 2011.

  1. Hi everyone, i'm come to a bit of a brick wall. I've got a reception/year 1 class and am focusing on the book Commotion in the Ocean. I was just wondering whether anyone had any ideas for an observation lesson on rhyming?

We have just finished doing describing words and fitting them into the gaps of the Angel Fish poem and now onto rhyming.

I was thinking of beginning with the Silly Soup activity as a whole class and then here is where I get stuck.

Has anyone used any kind of writing frame for poetry?

    Thanks in advance.

I love playing with rhymes and so do the children but why is rhyming so sacrosanct?
