My Sparrow Gran - Berlie Doherty. Fantastic poem, but not a lot out there for resources.
Valerie Bloom and Grace Nichols have written some great poems for KS2 - focus on poems from other cultures or choral poetry.
The Magic Box - Kit Wright is often used - but probably lots of ideas already around for that, so maybe not a priority.

The poems I return to the most for year 5 are:
    City Jungle - Pie Corbett
    City Lights - Margaret Greaves
    The Sea - James Greaves
The Listeners - Walter de la Mare
    The Highwayman - Alfred Noyes
    Cargoes - John Masefield
    Anything by Ted Hughes

  3. I love
    Wings by Pie Corbett
And almost anything else by him too!
Would also second the comment about Valerie Bloom.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. Keep them coming. We can approach the authors for some rights to build resources to support.

We used a lot of Benjamin Zephaniah this year along with Blake's Tyger, Tyger.
