Poetry Help Please

Discussion in 'Primary' started by littlest4r, Oct 27, 2011.

  1. Could you maybe find a poem about animal homes? e.g. a bird's nest, a badger's set, a rabbit's burrow etc? Just an idea :) The main thing though is finding poems with interesting features they can pick up on, such as rhyming and describing words.

  5. Pie Corbett's Jumpstart Poetry provides great ideas.
Riddles and rhymes are great to get kids hooked.
Sharing lots of poetry with them first etc....

  6. Thanks everyone.
I'm glad Pie Corbett does poetry - I hadn't realised. We have used Talk for writing for fiction and non fiction really well.

  7. Pie loves teaching and writing poetry. He has a fab book out called Evidence of Dragons - wonderful poems - great for inspiring the boys too!!!!
