This feels like a very long shot!!! I don't suppose anyone could suggest a poem that they know which a child could give to their parent? I remember reading one years ago and thinking how great that would be to receive from your child, and of course, now that I am a teacher, it would be great for my class to write and frame as a Christmas present for a parent. It was a "Thank you for being you" kind of poem...Any suggestions very welcome! Thanks.
  2. I've always liked this one, with handprints on the page, of course! A little young for KS2 but works well for FS and KS1.

    My Tiny Handprints
My little handprints on the walls
On the mirrors and in the halls
    I'll be grown some day
    And all those tiny handprints
    Will surely fade away
    So here's a special gift
    Just so you can recall
    Exactly how my hands looked
    When I was very small

Or you could get them to write their own - along the lines of 'my mother is...etc?

What about something along the same lines as a 'recipe for friendship' poem?
    Recipe for a happy family
    Recipe for the perfect mum
    Recipe for the perfect Christmas
