PM observations

    The answer is no - because teachers would not wish lesson observations outside PM, which might be judged less favourable than they'd wish - to be used for PM purposes. You can't have it both ways round - either any lessons can be used for PM (including the less favourable ones), or only the PM designated ones.
    You can see, I hope, why the rule has to be kept - it's for everyone's protection.
     
  2. There is a limit to the number of lessons and length of time having lessons observed allowed per performance management cycle.for performance management purposes.
    There is no limit for other types of lesson observations such as monitoring and quality assurance.
    I am fairly sure you can request that the existing lessons obs can be used as perf man lessons - check your school's perf man policy.
    Keep a note of dates times and lengths of obs and inform your union immediately if you think there is anything untoward going on.
